Christophe Israël is a dynamic media leader specializing in digital strategy, media transformation, and artificial intelligence. His career combines high-level editorial leadership with technological expertise to drive industry innovation.

Formerly the Head of Digital at France Inter (2013-2017) and Deputy Managing Editor at Libération (2017-2021), he also served as Digital and Development Editor-in-Chief at Tamedia (2021-2024). In these roles, he spearheaded digital-first strategies, product innovation, and audience growth initiatives. With a strong track record at major organizations, Christophe is an expert in leading complex transformation projects and developing sustainable business models in the digital landscape.

As co-designer and lead mentor for the global Newsroom AI Catalyst programme (WAN-IFRA / OpenAI), he has supported international newsrooms in experimenting with generative AI and has led the European “Advanced” cohort. His strategic vision is further informed by a collaboration with DeepMind, focusing on the structural impacts of advanced models on journalism. Utilizing a holistic approach at the crossroads of technology and people, he advises media organizations on team acculturation and the deployment of ethical AI strategies.
