Our consulting team has world-class expertise and our unique Journalism Design Sprints have been used for creative problem solving for everything from climate journalism to mis and disinformation, and editorial content strategies.

And Fathm Studio, our digital creative branch, has delivered bespoke visual content on everything from infodemic management to impactful digital and social media campaigns.

Our environmental policy details our efforts to reduce our impact on the environment, including working with environmental organisation Ecologi to offset the carbon we use.

We also believe the choices we make about who supplies us with goods and services are an important part of taking positive action against climate change. Our supplier code of conduct helps us make informed decisions about our suppliers.

Our backstory

Fathm was founded in 2019 by Fergus Bell and Tom Trewinnard. After establishing themselves at the cutting edge of journalism, innovation and technology – Fergus at the Associated Press, and Tom at Meedan – the pair launched Pop-Up Newsroom in 2017 to harness the power of collaboration for positive change.

Their experimental reporting initiatives took them around the world, tackling societal challenges from election misinformation to natural disasters. And through large-scale collaborations with journalists, technologists, researchers and academics, they developed the pioneering Journalism Design Sprints for which Fathm is now recognised.

Launching Fathm in 2019 was the next logical step for Fergus and Tom. Their goal is the same now as it was then: to help newsrooms and communications teams achieve sustainability through navigating and harnessing creative change.
